WHen I first saw the Dinomite Birthday Stamp Set I started thinking about colors and was planning on coloring the dinosaurs grey. I didn’t want a colorful background to take the spotlight away from the stars of the show so I decided to do black and white with a pop of color.
Once I decided on the color scheme, I turned my attention to the background. After stamping the dinosaurs I used 1-point perspective to draw a stage.

Next, I cut out a spotlight shape to use as a stencil for the lights. I softened the edges a bit with a brush and added the shadows as a finishing touch.

The lack of color might give the impression of an unfinished card to some but I think the contrast and simplicity of it makes it stand out. I hope this design has inspired you to step out of your comfort zone and try something different on your next card design.
