Love you!

Today, I wanted to create a card that was a little out of the box for the stamp set used. I had Moon and Stars Stamps and Moon and Stars Dies and the Redwood Forest Stencil all found at Pajama Crafter Stamps and began thinking about a fun way to use them.

I started by diecutting the circle from the die set out of masking sheet. You can use a post it for this as well. Something with a light tack so it doesn’t tear your cardstock when you are done.

I put the die cut sun mask on the top portion of the cardstock and ink blended around it in a light yellow with a tinge of orange to simulate the glow off of the sun (or moon – depending on the use). I used the Redwood Forest stencil and stenciled in some trees of various sizes and overlapping each other. Then I placed the masks that are included in the stencil set and started ink blending my sky in pinks and purples to simulate a beautiful sunrise. Then I removed the mask and added darker yellow ink in the center of the sun. I used the bottom of the stencil to cut out the hills and ink blend a little shading. I cut another hill out and added it with foam tape to the panel after stamping the sentiment on it. Final steps were to splatter with white spray and Iridescent spray to mimic snow and then a little chunky glitter as the last step for the shine.

Don’t forget that stamps and stencils can be used for different purposes other than what you initially see when you look at the images. Step outside of the box and look for new ways to use it and don’t shy away from combining sets for the look YOU WANT!
