Hello everyone! June is right around the corner and that means it’s time
for graduation! Today I made a project using the Hats Off Stamp Set
This is a great set for graduation cards. There are so many possibilities
with it! Let me show you how I made my card!
My card is a 5″ x 7″ card so I covered the base of my card with some
metallic gold card stock. Next I die cut a 5″ x 7″ panel with a fancy
rectangle die using a velvet paper. I adhered this velvet paper to the
base I created…more on that in a bit.

I heat embossed, in gold, the smaller of the 2 sizes of graduation cap in the set.
I also stamped out my sentiment and cut it into a strip that would be able to
go across my next background piece.

Using a dark blue marker – in my case a B99 Copic – I did some very
basic shading on the caps. Once that was done I fussy cut them. I stamped
6 of them but only used 5.

I cut my sentiment to size and edged the 2 long sides with some white peel-offs
that were edged in gold. I die cut another panel, this time from some white and
gold paper with the same nesting dies I used on the velvet piece. It was at this
point that I noticed the velvet paper did not want to stick properly on the gold
card stock. So, I die cut a piece of the blue paper that I used for the hats and
the sentiment, die cut it with the biggest die and adhered it to the base.
I adhered the white and gold piece to the base with foam tape. I adhered the
sentiment with foam tape across the middle. I adhered the hats – 2 were
adhered flat and 3 were popped up on foam tape. I added shimmer pen to
the word “grad” and on the hats as well. I added tiny metallic stars to the
background and my card was done!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s tutorial! Make this card for your grad
