Today I’m sharing a fun little project that’s perfect for gifting—a handmade gift card holder with a playful interactive twist! I pulled out the Zipper Die to create a pull-and-reveal pouch, and it was such a joy to make.

I started with a standard A2 card base in landscape orientation, with the fold along the top. For the front, I stenciled the cheerful In My Heart of Hearts stencil in soft pinks and sunny yellows, adding a sweet wash of color to set the tone.

Next, I positioned the top edge of the Zipper Die about an inch down from the top of the card front and secured it with low-tack tape. (A quick reminder: make sure the card is not folded when you run it through your die-cutting machine.)

Inside the card, I attached a stitched panel, then nestled a gift card in place with removable tape. A thin bead of glue around the edges allowed me to seal the front and back together—creating a tidy little pouch that hides the surprise inside!

To finish off the handmade gift card holder, I added one of the absolutely adorable cats from the Meowentine stamp set. It gives the entire project a sweet, playful vibe that makes opening the card even more fun.

If you’d like to try this project yourself, here are the supplies I used:

Handmade surprises always feel a little more magical—and this zipper-style card is such a delightful way to gift something small but meaningful.
