It happens to all of us — even the most creative minds hit those moments where the mojo packs a little suitcase and wanders off. The great thing is that you’ve already found one of the best ways to coax it back: card sketches and online challenges.
Whether you choose to get started by joining an online challenge, Craft Roulette, register for an online card class that provides card sketches and materials, or just search social media (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, MustStash, YouTube) – there is something for all crafting levels and technique interests.
This week, my friend and I decided to check out a card challenge. We started by downloading a card sketch, and then selected our papers, cardstock, dies and got our paper trimmers ready to jump in! A great resource is the FREE Fun Fold Guide from Pajama Crafter Stamps if you want to jumpstart your Mojo

Using Pajama Crafter Stamps’Birds of a Feather set with Kendra’s sketch #1 gives you a really clean structure to start from, and the Circle Peek A Boo die is such a smart choice. It naturally frames the birds, adds dimension, and gives that “window” effect that works beautifully with whimsical images. And, of course, what’s sassier than a bird on a wobbler.

I used You’re My Pot of Gold stamp set with sketch #2 for this cute St. Patrick’s Day card design. You see again, how I used the Circle Peek A Boo die, some bling + ribbon to add texture and interest while highlighting that super cute leprechaun. Maximize your supplies by finding multiple ways to use them. You can’t go wrong with good foundation dies!

Tapping into card sketches or other free resource guides is a great way to receive guidance because it sets the starting point and then allows for your own modifications. For example I made 3 cards from just one sketch. Sketches allow the focal image to shine without needing a complicated layout. I used the repeated panels of the beautiful Emerald Isles paper pack to act like visual anchors so that the You Are stamp set becomes the star of the show. Then, I added the Circle Peek A Boo die and some bling to add dimension and interest.
Let’s see what you’ve created! I would absolutely love to see how you take a sketch and make it uniquely yours! Please pop on over to the Pajama Crafter Stamps and Friends Facebook group and share a card you’ve created with a sketch. Tell us: What card sketch you used, what you added to make it your own, and what made you smile as you created it.
Let’s spark creativity together and keep spreading joy — one handmade card at a time!
