This week’s card was inspired by another online craft challenge. After seeing so many crafty friends share their challenge-inspired projects, I knew I had to check out some challenges for myself—and now I’m hooked!
When I learned “feathers” was one of the parameters, I immediately thought of the Birds Of A Feather stamp set from Pajama Crafter Stamps! It has quickly become one of my all-time favorites—those sweet images make it so easy to create something heartfelt.
I embraced soft cotton candy shades, which sent me straight to my paper stash, where I knew I had the perfect match waiting! My paper not only met my color palette, but it was sprinkled with hearts. I always think of hearts as little paper hugs, so they felt like the perfect touch.
Once I had decided on my stamp set, colors, and papers, I just needed to figure out how to incorporate a bookmark into the design. Then the lightbulb went on! 💡 I had some tags in my stash that could easily double as a bookmark.
I first tried ink blending on the tag, but I couldn’t quite achieve the color I wanted to coordinate with the papers I had selected. So I changed course. I traced the tag onto my coordinating cardstock, cut it out, and added a hole punch—voilà! A custom bookmark that matched perfectly.
Layering the patterned papers into banners with the Banner Die Set created a fun focal point and brought the whole design together while highlighting the colors I chose. The Banner Die set is one of essential die sets from Pajama Crafter Stamps that really everyone should have in their stash! I added my alcohol marker colored bird to the book mark, and voila!
Sometimes you just have to think creatively about how to stretch the supplies you already have to bring the idea in your head to life. That’s one of the things I love most about playing along with challenges – they really push you to see your stash in new ways! ✂️📚✨
I searched through my pre-stamped and cut sentiment binder and found the perfect sentiment to add. With that in place—plus a little bling for extra sparkle—the card was complete.
I love the feeling of success with challenges and seeing how everything comes together in the end -making crafting even more fun! 💖✂️
