We all have those days when nothing seems to go quite right. That’s exactly the kind of moment this card is perfect for! Sometimes a little humor and a cute sea creature are just what someone needs to turn their day around.
For this card, I started by creating a bold background using coordinating patterned paper in shades of navy and blue. The different patterns add visual interest while still keeping everything cohesive with a cool ocean-inspired palette. The large “DANG” sentiment from the Dang, Whoa Yikes! Die Set takes center stage at the top of the card. I layered it with a soft polka dot pattern from the Savanna Neutrals Paper Pack and a pop of deep orange shadowing to help it stand out against the background. It really sets the tone for the playful message! To keep the theme going, I added the banner sentiment “Rough Day?” and paired it with a sweet little reminder: “Keep calm and stay sea-sational.” I love how a simple banner can guide your eye through the card while adding another layer of dimension. The Banner Die Set is a cardmaking must-have tool!
The adorable pufferfish from the Mother Puffer Stamp Set is the real star of the show. After stamping the image, I colored it with alcohol markers to give it a soft, warm look. The deep orange Scalloped Circle Die behind the pufferfish helps it pop off the card and ties in beautifully with the deep orange accents in the main sentiment. A few sparkly Opalescence Confetti Embellishments finish off the design and add just a little bit of shine—because even rough days deserve a little sparkle.
