Today I’m sharing this sweet scrapbook-inspired layout that we created during our YouTube Live while playing along with Craft Roulette! This project was such a fun mix of soft florals, layered details, and creative challenge parameters that really pushed the design in the best way.
For this layout, I used the adorable Flower Child stamp set for the focal images and colored them with Copic markers. The warm earthy hair tones paired with the bright blue overalls create the perfect free-spirited, boho vibe. I especially love how the daisy crown ties everything together and adds that soft whimsical touch.
To create the background, I stamped the beautiful peonies from the Together stamp set in black ink for a soft no-line-style floral backdrop effect. Leaving the peonies mostly uncolored keeps the focus on the Flower Child images while still adding lots of visual texture and detail across the page.
For extra dimension and movement, I created a banner using the Pennant Die along with papers from the Spring Plaid Paper Pack. The pastel florals and soft plaid patterns fit the “florist shop” color inspiration perfectly and add playful pops of color throughout the layout.
We also incorporated interactive photo elements using the faux Polaroid frames, which help tell the story while leaving room for special memories and photos. The black photo placeholders really ground the softer pastel palette and help draw the eye around the entire spread.
Craft Roulette Parameters
We created this project live during Craft Roulette, and here were the fun challenge parameters we had to follow:
- Project: A9 / 5.5 x 8.5 inch layout
- Element: Birthday sentiment
- Colors: Florist Shop Pastels inspired by the Spring Plaid Paper Pack
- Random: Something from your desk — we used twine and the Pennant Die
I love how these parameters came together to inspire a soft spring birthday-themed scrapbook layout that still feels playful and interactive.
