There’s something so fun about taking one stamped image and transforming it into completely different looks using nothing but creative color placement and texture techniques! Today I’m featuring the adorable All American Girl stamp set from Pajama Crafter Stamps and sharing how changing hair color, skin tones, and marker placement can create uniquely customized cardmaking projects.
For the blonde version, I used warm golden Copic combinations with layered flicking to create movement and dimension in the ponytails. For the darker textured hairstyle, rich brown blends paired with detailed multiliner strokes created the illusion of curls and braided texture without changing the stamped lines themselves. Tiny strand details and intentional shading placement make a huge difference when coloring hair with alcohol markers.
Copic Color Combos Used
Caucasian Skin & Blonde Hair
- Hair: Y21, Y26, E08, E87
- Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Deep Skin & Textured Hair
- Hair: E49, E59, E79
- Skin: E13, E15, E18
Patriotic Outfit Details
- Reds: R35, R37, R39
- Blues: B24, B26, B28 or B45, B97, B99
One of my favorite finishing details is adding a soft gray shadow underneath the character. A simple cast shadow helps ground the image, creates depth, and instantly gives your stamped scene a more polished and dimensional look.
Creative color placement allows card makers to customize stamped images to reflect different styles, personalities, and inspiration sources — proving that one stamp can truly become endless possibilities!
I hope today’s projects inspire you to look at your stamps in a whole new way! With a little creative color placement, one image can become completely customized to fit different styles, personalities, and themes. That’s exactly why I love crafting with the All American Girl stamp set from Pajama Crafter Stamps — the possibilities are truly endless!
