Trash-to-Treasure

Turning Your Trash Into Treasures
by

Today I am going to show you a beautiful gift that you can create in just a matter of minutes with something you would have THROWN AWAY in the first place!!!  I have already made up several of these to have on hand for the holidays.  This would be so perfect to take along to your hostess at a party, to give to your co-workers, or kids teacher.  So, let’s get started.
1.  Choose your stamp.  Today I am using the Ornamental Wreath that can be found in our STORE.  It is the perfect size for my project.
2.  Next you are going to need one of these: this container is made of paper and what better way to recycle.
3.  You will need two sheets of 8.5 x 11 KRAFT card stock for this project and a round die.  Fold your card stock and position the die as shown.
Cut four of these in your die cut machine.  You will end up with something that looks like this.
4.  Now you are going to need a white pigment ink pad…go ahead and ink up your stamp.  Stamp four of these on the cards you just cut and a fifth one to cut out for the top of the box.
5.  Once your ink is dry on these babies, embellish them with really simple items.  I have used a bit of sheer ribbon and some baby seed pearls.
6.  Now we are ready to move on to our box to hold these sweet little cards.  Cover the bottom half of your box in a matching ribbon and cut a circle a glue over the bottom…this hides your mechanics.
See how those cards fit perfectly inside of here?
Last but not least, we have our top.  I have gone a bit fancy on mine but here is the final project.
I’ve used some simple die cuts that fit the center of the box.  Remember the extra wreath I asked you to stamp?  Well, I have glittered that with PKGlitz glitters and added to the center of the box.
I’ve added a bit of braided trim around the edges to once again hide where I removed the cheese labels.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial today on recycling your household items and turning your trash into treasures.  Head over to the store and pick up this STAMP.  You will not find another that fits these boxes as perfectly as it does.

Be sure to stop by next Wednesday…I have some Halloween Treats that you are NOT going to want to miss!!!
