Supplies List

Here’s what you’ll need for this project:

  • Date Night Stamp Set (Pajama Crafter Stamps)
  • Date Night Dies (Pajama Crafter Stamps)
  • Pattern paper pad (choose one that speaks to you!)
  • Layering dies or some type of frame die
  • Alcohol markers in coordinating colors
  • Foam tape
  • A2 top folding card base

Choosing the Pattern Paper

First, let’s dive into our pattern paper stash. I chose a lively sheet from a 6 x 6 pattern paper pad that complements the playful vibe of the Date Night Stamp Set. The colors in the paper will guide our entire color palette.

Pro Tip: Let the pattern paper be your muse! It simplifies color selection and ensures a cohesive look.

Creating the Frame

Next, we’re going to create a charming frame using our dies. I cut a frame from the selected pattern paper to add some lovely texture and interest to the card. To give our frame a little lift and dimension, I adhered it using thin strips of foam tape. There are a number of fabulous choices of dies in the online store that you can use to create a frame or window for your card front. I will list a few of my top picks in the supply list below in case you’re interested.

I remember my first time using layering dies. I was amazed at how such a simple step could add so much depth to my projects. It’s now one of my favorite techniques!

Stamping and Coloring

Now for the fun part—stamping! I stamped the adorable popcorn box and drink holding hands, along with a few extra popcorn pieces, using the Date Night Stamp Set from Pajama Crafter Stamps. Then, I colored them using alcohol markers in colors that match my pattern paper.

Pro Tip: If you struggle with alcohol makers start with the lightest marker shade and build up to the darkest. This technique will give your images a smooth blend and realistic shading.

Die Cutting

With our images colored, it’s time to use the Date Night Dies to cut them out. Die cutting is a game-changer—it saves time and gives a clean, professional finish to your elements.

Assembling the Card

Let’s bring everything together. First, I attached the pattern paper background to an A2 top folding card base. Then, I adhered the layered frame using foam tape for that extra pop.

Next, I placed the stamped and colored popcorn and drink image on the right hand side of the frame, also using foam tape to make it stand out. Finally, I scattered a few additional popcorn pieces around the card to create a playful, dynamic scene.

Final Touches

Take a moment to ensure all elements are securely attached and that your card is balanced. Sometimes, a little adjustment here and there can make a big difference in the overall look.
