Kick Up Your Heels, Mischief Allowed

Hey Y’all!!! It’s day 2 of the new Southwest Release at Prickley Pear Stamps and I’m showcasing the Kokopelli – Happy Birthday stamp set. I love celebrating birthdays. Especially someone else’s. Hehe. How would you say Happy Birthday? Be sure to check out the fun stamp sets and dies in the new release! All the details for making this card yourself are below.

I started by stamping the the dancer, the notes she’s playing and the sentiments on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I didn’t use any Copic Markers on this card.

The set comes with 11 images and 11 sentiments. You can mix and match them in so many great combinations. Here is the link for the clear Kokopelli – Happy Birthday stamp set & matching dies:

PAPER & EVERYTHING ELSE

• Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb Paper

• Card Stock – Basic Black, Mango Melody

• Ink – Distress Oxide (Black Soot)

• Stencils – Random Music Notes and Music Symbols

• Foam Tape, Black Enamel Dots

The card base is from basic black. The base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the long side.  Make sure you use your bone folder and burnish the fold well so it doesn’t tear the fold.

On top of the black card base is a piece of Mango Melody cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. Another layer of black and Mango Melody is on top of that. The black is cut to 5 5/16″ x 4″. The Mango is cut to 5 3/16″ x 3 15/16″. Obviously you can make them whatever size make you happy. They are all glued down with wet glue.

Before I glued them all down I stamped the top Mango card stock with lots of musical instruments using a Random Music Notes stencil. They are colored with Distress Oxide, Black Soot.

The next section of layers has more black and mango pieces. The black is 2 3/4″ x 2 1/8″. The mango is 2 9/16″ x 1 15/16″. I stamped the dancer directly on top of the piece of mango. They two pieces are wet glued together and popped up on top of the musical notes with foam tape. Added some black dots just because I could.

I stamped the melody she is playing on mango card stock, fussy cut it and popped it up with foam tape. Wonder what melody she’s playing? Can you hear it?

The two sentiments go together perfectly I thought. ‘Kick Up Your Heels’ and ‘Mischief Allowed’. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut them out with dies. They are popped up with foam tape.

Mischief Always!  ~Teresa
