Quick and Simple Coloring of Sketched Florals: Lily

Hello friends! I’m curious do you struggle when coloring florals? Like do you ask yourself do you need to add the veining and color variations that you find in nature or do you go all blendy blendy when coloring them? I usually go super technical, but I wasn’t feeling that today and I wanted to show you that simple color blends are stunning and easy to do.

With Easter being right around the corner, I thought I would color up the Sketched Florals Lily, but not in the traditional Easter Lily colors. You might laugh, but my mom used to call Easter lilies the flower of death, which is how I used to think of them. However this year I am focusing on flipping the lens (pun intended) and working on mindset. Mindset is my word of the year for 2024. Anyhow, even though Jesus died on the cross which is where the death flower came in… but he rose from the grave conquering death. So for now I am going to say that Easter lilies are the flower of life and resurrection. Doesn’t that sound so much better?

I’m reeling it an focusing back on the card now. I colored these lilies on a live yesterday and you can catch the replay HERE! Once the coloring was complete I cut an oval using the Scalloped Oval Nesting dies and the next larger size in black. Next I stamped the Happy Easter using the Crosses 2 set to create this fun Easter Card! Let me know what you think?
