sliding by to say hi latch card

Hey everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! Is it just a little chilly where you are?! Yeah, it is here, too! Leslie here, sharing an inspiration project featuring the Sliding By stamp set from our new release! I created a latch card which is a really easy design. It’s simply a bi-level card (meaning the front flap is a different length or width than the base flap) with a ‘latch’ to keep it closed! The latch on this card is a tree brad that coordinates with the trees in the stamp set! Talk about cuteness overload!

The card base was cut from white cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating blue patterned papers. I stamped three clusters of trees from the Sliding By stamp set in green ink. I lined up the cluster on the right-hand side with the right edge of the front flap and inside panel. Next, I stamped the penguin in black ink on white cardstock and colored him with alcohol markers. I fussy cut and edged the image with a black marker.

I added three tree brads, making one of them the latch (popped up on a dimensional), along with several snowflakes and gemstones from an embellishment mix in my stash. The front sentiment is from the Sliding By stamp set and the inside sentiment is from the Prickley Pear Stamps Flourished Oval 3-Holidays stamp set, stamped in black ink. I added three vertically-aligned gemstones in the right lower corner which completed the project.
