I hopped on over to Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Challenge to see what fun things they had in store for the weekend. It looked like fun, so I decided to make a card.
I was digging through my demo box looking for inspiration, and found a cornocupia transparency that I had already glittered up and had semi finished. I know… fall is six months away! But would you believe that I am already illustrating Halloween and Fall right now? So, I have already been in the mood for cooler weather and the turning of the leaves. Although, living in AZ, you do have to travel a bit to see the leaves changing.
To make this card. I first colored the transparency with copic markers (working on the back side). Once colored, I pulled out my clear drying glue and applied to the back side of the transparency over what I had colored with the markers. Next, I sprinkled silver glitter over the glue, set aside and let dry.
Once dry, I mounted to a piece of paper that had been distressed. I then layered onto green and tan card stocks as shown.
I used the colors of the transparency as my color guide for the rest of the card. I pulled out red mulberry, and sage papers to punch the little leaves and flowers.
I layered all elements onto leaf patterned paper and finished with a mulberry ribbon, buttons and a paper flower, and stamped “Thinking of You” at the bottom.

This is really cute! I love those leaves you added.
I like how you used the leaves for the scallops in the sketch. Great job.
