Isn’t this a cute way to send a birthday card to an -cough ahem- “older friend”?
I decided I wanted to create a “Polaroid” for this card. After all, it’s our older friends who would actually remember Polaroids – am I right?
I took a white panel of cardstock and masked off a portion so I would ensure I had the white edges. Then I ink blended inside the mask leaving the center lighter than the edges. I took the hat with confetti out of the set and spritzed water on the stamp then stamped it onto the ink blended area. This created a bleaching effect to the inked area and adds some dimension to the background. Next, I took the T-rex dinosaur and stamped him in black ink and colored with alcohol markers. In order to get some texture to the dinosaur’s body, I took a stamp from Gears 2 and inked it up in a slightly darker green and stamped it randomly over the image. The party hat was colored with alcohol markers and then I used a glitter pen to add sparkle. I finished off this polaroid by stamping the sentiment in the bottom of the photograph and added a tiny paper clip with a bit of ribbon. The patterned paper is from my stash and just like the dinosaur it’s likely prehistoric as I tend to hoard my papers. This cute stamp set includes 4 dinosaurs ready to party, a balloon, 2 sentiments and a party hat with confetti.
