Egg-stra Special Gift Card Holder with a Magical Zipper!
Hello, crafty friends! 🎨✨ Today, I’m sharing a fun step-by-step project featuring the Egg-stra Special stamp set and the Zipper Die from Pajama Crafter Stamps! It’s a creative way to surprise someone with a hidden gift! This interactive design is simple to make and adds a bit of magic to any occasion. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Preparing the Card Base
Start with an 8 ½” x 11″ piece of cardstock and cut it in half. This gives you two pieces for A2-sized cards. Set one aside for another project, then fold the other in half to create your card base. Next stamp and color the card front. I stamped and colored the adorable bunny and chick from the Egg-stra Special stamp set for my project. These sweet images bring a playful and cheerful touch to the card!
Step 2: Cutting the Zipper
Position the Zipper Die where you’d like the opening to be on the front of your card. I secured mine with low-tack tape to keep it in place. Before running it through your die-cutting machine, be sure to unfold the card; this ensures the zipper cut is only on the top layer.
Step 3: Creating the Gift Card Pocket
Open the card and attach a stitched panel to the inside back layer. This provides a clean background for the gift card. Use a small bit of removable adhesive to secure the gift card—just enough to keep it in place without making it difficult to remove.
Step 4: Sealing the Card
To turn the card into a sealed pouch, apply adhesive around the edges of the inside panel and press the card closed. Now the gift card is safely hidden inside!
Step 5: The Magic Moment!
The real fun begins when the recipient tugs at the right side of the zipper to reveal their surprise! 🎁✨ This interactive design is easy to make and adds a fun twist to gift-giving.
