There ‘s something so fun about combining bold florals, vintage-inspired textures, and playful coloring into one card design. This project brings all those elements together beautifully. Follow along for my process in making an easy handmade card full of dimension and boho charm!

Step 1: Background Panel
I started by die cutting the flowers from the Ladybug Gift Card Holder Die Set and paper from Birthday Bash Paper Pack and Nantucket Sea Escape Paper Pack. Once I adhered them to a piece of bold floral patterned paper from my stash, I used a stitched frame die to cut it the background panel. The Ladybug Gift Card Die Set provided the perfect flower die cut shapes bring in the bright yellows, retro florals and translucent layers of the embossed vellum for that vintage feel while still allowing the focal image to shine.

Step 2: Focal Image
The adorable image from the Flower Child stamp set takes center stage with her oversized green eyes, floral crown and carefree bohemian style. I colored her with alcohol markers to bring warmth and personality to the design while keeping the look soft and whimsical.
The embossed vellum softens the bold background while adding visual depth without overwhelming the design. Layering different materials – patterned paper, vellum, die cuts and embellishments – helps create a rich dimensional look that makes handmade cards feel extra special.

Step 3: Bring the Details
Adding small details to a handmade card makes the card unique. I added some green alcohol marker to the eyes and topped with Crystal Effects for that glossy-eye look. The Vintage Multi Color Wooden Buttons, along with some other buttons from my crafty stash add rustic charm. Of course, a card of mine would not be complete without some foam tape behind the focal image and sentiment to build the layers and create some depth.
