Happy August, friends!
Today is the perfect day to celebrate National Sandcastle Day, National Play Outside Day, and the excitement of Shark Week! It seemed like the perfect opportunity to pull out one of my favorite new sets from Pajama Crafter Stamps’ New Release, Sharkuterie Board.
One of the things I love most about stamping is discovering new ways to use the supplies already sitting on my craft table. Sometimes all it takes is looking at a stamp a little differently!
The tiny shell in the Sharkuterie Board stamp set may have been designed for a beach scene, but after stamping three shells together in a clover-like formation, I couldn’t help but see adorable little flowers. Once I fussy-cut them, I used a ball stylus tool to gently shape each petal, giving them beautiful dimension.
I had so much fun with this idea that I ended up creating two completely different cards using the exact same shell flowers! Shark Week may be ending today, but the Sharkuterie Board Stamp Set can become SO MUCH MORE! Just think outside of the shell!
🌊 Card One
My first card features two of my favorite stamp sets! One older release, a “Christmas” set and then one from the July New Release—Sharkuterie Board for the shell flowers and Citrus & Scarlet Blooms for the leaves and sentiment.
For my cardstock, I chose Marshmallow and Coal, then finished everything with a few highlights using a white gel pen from my stash.

🌸 Card Two
For my second card, I wanted to create a completely different look while using the very same shell flowers.
This card features the Sharkuterie Board stamp set, one of my favorite new sets from the July Release, along with the beautiful All Occasion Flash Cards and the Stitched Scallop Border Die Set.
Once again, I used Marshmallow and Coal cardstock, but this time I added lots of visual texture with several gel pens from my stash. By creating dots in different sizes and coordinating colors, I was able to enhance the foiled flash card without taking away from the focal point.
It’s such an easy technique that adds movement, color, and a little extra sparkle!
💡 Take It One Step Further…
As I was creating these flowers, I kept thinking…
Wouldn’t they be adorable if they actually spun?
Imagine adding one, two, or even three spinning flowers to your card! They don’t all have to move—even a single spinning flower would create such a fun interactive surprise.
The Spin Cycle Micro Rotators from Pajama Crafter Stamps would be perfect for this! They’re designed to make smaller stamped images spin independently and are much easier to use than you might think. I haven’t tried them with these flowers…yet…but I think they would be absolutely adorable!
