As Dinosaur Week stomps to a close here at Pajama Crafter Stamps, I couldn’t resist sharing one more prehistoric project! This adorable little guy from the Close To Extinction Stamp Set proves that dinosaurs and Halloween are a dino-mite combination.
This card combines a little Halloween magic with a lot of creativity—and one of my favorite techniques… Flash Card Surgery!
✂️ Flash Card Surgery!
Sometimes the best ideas come from looking at your supplies in a completely different way.
For this project, I grabbed two Halloween Flash Cards and gave them a brand-new purpose.
The Skeleton Flash Card became the foundation for my shaker by cutting a circle from the spiderweb background. Then I borrowed the adorable witch hat and the “Make Your Own Magic” sentiment from another Halloween Flash Card. Add a few Halloween shaker bits, and suddenly this little dinosaur was ready for a prehistoric night of trick-or-treating!
It’s amazing what a pair of scissors and a little imagination can do. Don’t be afraid to perform a little Flash Card Surgery on your own projects—you might be surprised by what you create!
Bringing This Little Dino to Life
One of my favorite parts of this card is bringing this sweet dinosaur to life with bright, vibrant coloring. His oversized witch hat, cheerful expression, and spooky shaker background make him impossible not to smile at.
The interactive shaker adds movement and sparkle, while the Halloween colors create the perfect backdrop for this prehistoric cutie.
