Halloween crafting doesn’t have to be complicated! Today I’m sharing a fun, quick, and easy handmade Halloween card that cardmakers of all skill levels—from beginners to experienced crafters—can easily recreate.
This spooky design combines ink blending, stenciling, heat embossing, die cutting, vellum, and rhinestone embellishments to create a festive Halloween card packed with texture and dimension.

I started by gathering some of my favorite Halloween-themed supplies from Pajama Crafter Stamps:

– Cardstock and vellum

How to Make This Easy Handmade Halloween Card
1. Create the Stenciled Halloween Background
– Start with a 4.25 x 5.5-inch piece of cardstock, which is a quarter sheet.
– Place the Twin Terrors Web Stencil over the cardstock and ink blend using your favorite Halloween colors. I chose a festive combination of orange, lime green, and purple for a colorful spooky background.
2. Add Heat-Embossed Webs for Texture
– Next, prepare the panel with an embossing anti-static tool. Reposition the Twin Terrors Web Stencil and apply embossing ink through the stencil.
– Cover the panel with black embossing powder, remove the excess, and heat emboss until the powder melts.
Pro tip: Before heating the embossing powder, use a fine-detail brush to gently remove a little of the powder along some of the edges. This creates a slightly “fuzzy” embossed edge that adds an extra creepy factor to your Halloween car-Adding a few orange gems from my stash provide even more of that creepy-crawly spider-web feeling.
3. Add Patterned Paper Layers
– Trim the stenciled panel to 4 x 5.25 inches.
– Adhere it to a 4.25 x 5.5-inch piece of patterned paper from the Emerald Isles Paper Pad, then attach the layered panel to a white, top-folding A2 card base.
The patterned paper adds another layer of color and interest without making the card complicated.
4. Create Multiple Sentiment Strips
– Stamp a sentiment from the Creepin’ It Real Stamp Set in black ink onto white cardstock.
One of my favorite things about this stamp set is that it includes so many sentiments together! You can stamp the sentiment collection once and cut it into individual sentiment strips, giving you pieces for multiple handmade Halloween cards.
– I mounted the sentiment strips onto orange cardstock to make them stand out against the spooky background.
5. Create a Spooky Focal Point
– I die cut a web from items in my stash to give some flair to the card panel.
– I added a vellum circle to create additional dimension and provide a soft background for the sentiment strips. The vellum allows the colorful stenciled background to peek through while helping the sentiments remain easy to read.
– I added Aurora Borealis Rhinestones for a little extra sparkle. Because no handmade card is complete without some bling!
A Quick and Easy Halloween Card With Lots of Texture
This easy Halloween card combines several cardmaking techniques without requiring complicated construction. Ink blending creates a soft colorful background, stenciling adds a spooky design, heat embossing provides texture, and a die-cut web creates a unique focal point.
